An Olympic Track for Eastern Kentucky University

Dedicated in 1976 and named in honor of the former EKU track and field and football coach, Tom Samuels Track has been the training base for many All-Americans and Olympians over the years. This summer the 9 lane, 400 meter Tom Samuels Track got a facelift! A new Mondo Super X 720 track surface was installed and recently completed this month. This state-of-the-art surface is featured throughout the facility, including the high jump, javelin and steeplechase water jump areas, and the pole vault, long jump and triple jump runways. Mondo’s Super X track has been used in 8 Olympic Games.
