About the Facility
In 2010, the University of Wisconsin Madison undertook the planning for a massive effort to upgrade its facilities for student athletes, both in terms of athletics and academic support services. The project involved adding a new, three-story academic and strength training center onto the north end of Camp Randall Stadium and renovating locker rooms for university sports teams. Strength training and the academic center will move to a curving, 32,000-square-foot addition to the north end of Camp Randall stadium.

Sports flooring was used in 2 of the three phases: Phase 1 – remodeling within the existing Camp Randall Stadium, for the Badger Strength and Conditioning Center, and Phase 2 – remodeling of the entire basement of the Dave McClain Athletic Facility.

The 41,730 square-foot Badger Strength and Conditioning Center is located below the bowl of Camp Randall Stadium. It provides specialized weight training and fitness equipment, along with open area for agility training drills and explosive movement exercises.

The 72,056 square-foot Dave McClain Athletic Facility houses the Badgers’ indoor football practice field on its main level. The reconfiguration of its lower level now provides a cohesive space for all the football operations, and space for men’s and women’s track and soccer programs. All student athletes, including those with remotely located locker facilities, have access to the new training and sports-medicine facility co-located with football operations.

What the Customer Has to Say
John Dettmann, Director of Strength and Conditioning at the University of Wisconsin-Madison said, “it was important for the renovation of the Student Athletic Performance Center that we chose a product that had a history of performance and durability. The Mondo products met those criteria. We are very pleased with the performance of the product as well as the excellent installation provided by Kiefer USA. I would recommend this product to anyone.”
